At a ceremony on Friday 23 November 2012 held in the Hall of the Worshipful Company of Painters in the city of London, the Trustees of the Company of Educators awarded this year’s prestigious Mary Lou Carrington Award to Dr Ann Limb OBE DL Chair of E-ACT.

An FE Week charity auction night held in the grand setting of Birmingham’s Grade II-listed Council House raised at least £5,500 for the Helena Kennedy Foundation. The night was supported by NCFE and Tribal.
More than 100 guests attended the event on Tuesday, November 20, including National Institute of Adult Continuing Education chief executive David Hughes and Learning and Skills Improvement Service chair Dame Ruth Silver.

Helena Kennedy students have come up with a fundraising initiative and they need our support! Six Article 26 students are currently braving wind, rain and sunshine to train for the Royal Half Parks Marathon in London. They are raising money for the projects and to help all the students who are being supported by HKF. They have even convinced HKF trustee Nick Sagovsky and former CEO Wes Streeting to join them!

One of our trustees Tom Meade ran the Ridgeway Challenge for a charity that is very close to his heart – The Helena Kennedy Foundation. Thanks to your support he raised a total of £1980.00. With gift aid the total is £2,332.50

HKF is excited to announce Shahida Aslam as our new Operations Manager. Shahida is joining us from the University of East London, Students’ Union, and will be starting at the Foundation on 6th August.
