Now works as

Biomedical Scientist for Haematology and Blood Transfusion

Having had to become a young carer for both of my parents with complex medical issues since the age of 15, it has taken a huge amount of drive and determination, to achieve what I have achieved today. Never did I think that I would be able to achieve a First Class Degree in Biomedical Science, on top of continuing to look after my parents, their finances and their household. Financially, it was very hard for me to fund certain aspects of my learning; that is where the bursary provided by the HKF Foundation came in and provided reassurance to myself and my parents that I can achieve my goals at university, without having to worry about money. I am now a fully qualified Biomedical Scientist, in the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department at a hospital in Bristol. I cannot thank the HKF Foundation enough for all the support they provided me.
