Support
University life can sometimes throw up unexpected twists and turns. To help you to steer your way through HKF has a dedicated team of staff to help you out if you need advice, guidance or just someone to talk to whilst you're at university.

Skills
HKF will be running training and skills enhancement sessions throughout the next academic year. These are aimed to build your confidence as well as your skills base, which will look brilliant on your CV and give you something extra to talk about in interviews.

We are hoping to increase the amount of skills sessions that we can offer so any ideas on what you would like us to provide are very welcome.
Work Shadowing
Work shadowing is an excellent way of finding out about an area of work that you are interested in and gives you the opportunity to find out if it is something that you want to pursue.
- In the majority of cases work shadowing consists of you spending time with a professional, observing their day-to-day activities and finding out first-hand what the job involves.
- The time which organisations can give to work shadowing can vary, so your experience could last from just a day to a week, or can be broken into a number of days over several weeks.
- We will fit your experience around your other commitments, so it won't encroach on your academic course.
What work shadowing can help you with:
- career testing - allowing you to explore a career area in which you are already interested
- career exploration - interesting you in a career area that you might not already have thought of
- skills development - using the experience as an opportunity to develop your employability skills
