Application forms for the 2012 awards are now available. All applications must be submitted on the Foundation’s application form, which can be downloaded above. Before starting your application, you must read the guidance notes, together with the information on the ‘How to apply ’ page.
Please check the Foundation’s eligibility criteria before submitting an application, applicants who do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be considered for an award. You must have the support of your college to make an application to the Foundation. We can only accept five applications per college; your Principal will sign your application to confirm that you are one of the applicants the college wishes to put forward in 2012.
Before completing your application form, please look at the awards available in 2012 listed below. Additional awards may be added to this page throughout the application period. It is not necessary to indicate in your application which award you are applying for, we will match each applicant to the available bursaries according to the information you give us in your application form. Please include any information that you believe may make you eligible for one of the awards listed below in your personal statement.
All applications MUST be completed fully, signed by the Principal, and be received by the Foundation on or before midday on the closing date the 30th March 2012. Applications received after this date cannot be accepted.
If you want to receive confirmation that your application has been received please enclose a stamped addressed envelope or postcard with your application, we will post it back to you on receipt.

For a student from a 157 member college, progressing to higher education.
Anne Russell Award
In memory of Anne Russell, an award for a student progressing to study in the fields of nursing or counselling.
ASET
For a student progressing to a course with an embedded placement, taken at a ASET member University. The full list of ASET member institutions can be seen here; http://www.asetonline.org/membership.htm#currentmembers
Bangor University
Two awards for students progressing onto a undergraduate course at Bangor University
City and Guilds NPTC
For students from a rural area intending to study a programme in the land based sector.
De Montfort University (TBC)
Available to a student progressing to a creative or professional undergraduate course at De Montfort University.
Edge Hill University
2 awards for students progressing to an undergraduate course at Edge Hill University.
EMFEC
Available to a student from a college within the EMFEC membership progressing to a undergraduate course higher education course in 2012.
Endsleigh
2 awards available to two students studying or training to teach
Hewett / Driver Trust
2 awards available for students training to teach.
John Lyon's Charity (TBC)
10 awards available to students living in the following London boroughs: Brent, Barnet, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea and the Cities of London and Westminster.
Kings College London
Available to a student progressing to an undergraduate course at Kings College London
KPMG Foundation
10 awards available for the following group of students:
- students who have been in care
- students who have learning difficulties such as dyslexia
- students who are asylum seekers or refugees
Liverpool Hope University (TBC)
2 awards available to students progressing to Liverpool Hope University.
London Metropolitan University
2 awards available for students from the following colleges progressing to an undergraduate course at the university; City and Islington College, Hackney Community College, College of North East London, Westminster Kingsway College, Lambeth College. Priority will be given to students who are lone parents with childcare responsibilities for children under the age of five.
Neil & Margaret Simpson Award
Donated by Neil Simpson in memory of Margaret Simpson for a student from the counties of Cumbria or Norfolk, progressing to a undergraduate degree in a subject that will lead to clear professional route for the learner.
Rob Valentine Award
In memory of Rob Valentine, to support a student from the counties of Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire or Northamptonshire to achieve their learning goals.
Royal London Cash Management (TBC)
5 awards available for students who have overcome significant barriers to progress to a higher education course.
Southampton Solent University (TBC)
For a student progressing to an undergraduate course at Southampton Solent University.
The University of Wales, Newport
For a student progressing to a undergraduate course at The University of Wales, Newport
Thomas Wall Trust (TBC)
4 awards available to mature students who wish to return to higher education to obtain higher level skills and qualifications.
University College London
2 awards available for students progressing to an undergraduate course at University College London.
University of Bedfordshire
2 awards available for students from Milton Keynes College progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Bedfordshire.
University of Central Lancashire (TBC)
2 awards available to students progressing to undergraduate course at the University of Central Lancashire.
University of East London
4 awards available to students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of East London.
University of Edinburgh
2 awards for students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Edinburgh.
University of Essex
Available to a student progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Essex.
University of Huddersfield
Available to a student progressing to a Science or Engineering course at the University of Huddersfield.
University of Kent
For a student progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Kent.
University of Leicester
Available to a student progressing to a undergraduate course at the University of Leicester
University of Liverpool
2 awards for students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Liverpool
University of Nottingham (TBC)
Awards available to students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Nottingham.
University of Plymouth
4 awards available to students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Plymouth.
University of Westminster
6 Scholarships available to students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Westminster. The scholarships will only be awarded to home students who achieve high academic standards (usually 3 Bs at A level or equivalent).
University of Winchester (TBC)
3 awards available for students progressing to an undergraduate course at the University of Winchester.
