Helena Kennedy Foundation Awards
We are now accepting applications for our 2010 awards. Please visit the ‘How to apply’ page for further information.
Each year the Helena Kennedy Foundation invites Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges and Adult Education Centres across the UK to nominate up to 5 students for a Helena Kennedy Foundation Award. The awards scheme, which has been running since 1998, is aimed at providing much needed support to students from the further education sector who have overcome significant obstacles, both financial and personal, to complete their further education. Helena Kennedy Foundation awards are designed to support students in their progression to Higher Education, to improve chances of success in Higher Education and to increase employability when students move from higher education to work.
Since 1998, the number of bursaries awarded has grown significantly year on year. A record 150 bursaries and scholarships were awarded in 2009, together with 50 laptop awards, taking the number of students supported by the Foundation since its inception to 621.
This area of the website is aimed at providing information to potential applicants and to colleges who may wish to nominate a student for an award. If you cannot find the information you need please contact us.
